CLUB RACING / REGATTA PERFORMANCE

 

With the PRIMESails performance series we address the ambitious sportsman. These sails feature a high stretch resistance, very low weight and excellent shape holding power. Exactly what you need for successful regatta sailing. For our performance sails we use all the modern laminates offered by leading sail cloth manufacturers.
Whether it is kevlar, tawron or carbon, for every requirement we have an individual solution. Team PRIMESails uses these sails when racing internationally and we are very peculiar about material.

GRAND PRIX RACING / PROFESSIONAL REGATTA

 

The Grand Prix series was created for all those sailors, for whom yacht racing is a top priority. Shapeholding, low weight and an optimal profile for different uses are the key requirements for successful racing.

Our own designers take the time to make each sail fit precisely – like a bespoke suit. We consider every aspect of your boats measurements, take every single one of its characteristics into account. We profit from decades worth of sailmaking-tradition.

For this series, we use exclusively membrane structures (Fiber Path). Depending on your specific needs we would also include materials such as kevlar, tawron or carbon to achieve the optimum in aerodynamics, weight and shape holding. All this is based on state of the art manufacturing technology.

The Grand Prix series is intended for all sailors whose sole focus is on pure regatta sailing. Dimensional stability, low weight and an optimized profile for the different areas of application are the prerequisites for the desired success on the regatta tracks. At PRIMESails we take the time to design a sail that could also be called a tailor-made suit. All factors and properties of your boat are taken into the design process.
You too can benefit from decades of experience. In this series only membrane constructions (fiber path) are processed. Depending on the requirements in Kevlar, Tawron or carbon, you get the optimum in aerodynamics, weight, shape stability in conjunction with the latest manufacturing technology.

Spinnaker / Gennaker

The PRIMESails cruising series is tailored to the needs of demanding touring sailors. All of our cruising spinnaker sails are processed in a radial cut. This cut enables us to achieve the optimum in propulsion and durability. The vertically sewn panels optimally distribute the occurring forces according to the load lines, thus ensuring that your sail is in a perfect position. Depending on the size of the spinnaker / gennaker, different numbers of crossways are defined in the sail design.
The Cruising / Downwinder have an all-round design, with which they cover all wind areas. We only use cloths from brand manufacturers for this series.

The Club Racing series from PRIMESails appeals to all sporty ambitious sailors who would also like to sail a regatta. All of our Club Racing Spinnaker / Gennaker sails are processed in a radial cut, this cut enables us to achieve the optimum in propulsion and durability. Due to the vertical panels, the forces that occur are optimally sewn to the load lines and thus ensure that your sail is in a perfect position. Depending on the size of the sail, different numbers of crossways are defined in the sail design. The color of these cloth sheets can be designed accordingly.

The shape / sail design is individually optimized to your wishes. To do this, you have the option of specifying your intended purpose in the input mask. In this series we use impregnated and coated multi-purpose cloths.

The Grand Prix series is intended for all sailors whose sole focus is on pure regatta sailing. Dimensional stability, low weight and an optimized profile for the different areas of application are the prerequisites for the desired success.

All Grand Prix Spinnaker / Gennaker sails are processed in a radial cut, this cut enables us to achieve the optimum propulsion and durability. Due to the vertical panels, the forces that occur are optimally sewn to the load lines and thus ensure that your sail is in a perfect position. Depending on the size of the sail, different numbers of crossways are defined in the sail design. In this segment we only process fabrics of above-average high quality.

These cloths are all silicone coated to keep the weight as low as possible when wet. In these qualities you can drive a lighter cloth even in higher wind areas.

Code Zero

The code “0” originated in the late 1990s.This special sail appeared for the first time in the course of the 1997/98 Whitbread Race. Intended for long light wind gears on the wind, the code “0” developed into a real secret weapon. The code “0” is now widely accepted, and not only for offshore regattas.

The application range of the classic code “0” is between 45 ° to 90 ° AWA and a true wind speed TWS below 10 knots. You can also drive it with up to 18 knots in half wind, depending on the type of boat.

Due to the new rig geometries, i.e. outer shrouds to the side wall and relatively small headsail of up to 110%, the new constructions definitely have a performance hole up to a wind speed of TWS 8 knots. And exactly this gap can be closed by a code “0”.

As there is more and more demand for a large upwind sail, the design of the classic code “0” has been changed a bit, more towards a design similar to a Genoa I light. At PRIME Sails we have given this sail the name “TopReacher”, it differs from a code “0” as follows:straight luff exposed and a negative leech curve.

However, since the area of application is very similar to that of a code “0”, we have included our “TopReader” in this category. If you look at the international sailing scene today, today’s code “0” looks more like a Genoa I light. How is the code “0” / “TopReacher” driven?
It has proven itself in the past to drive the code “0” with a rolling device. For this you need a roll with an endless line and a top swivel. These systems are offered as a complete set. We would be happy to advise yo, if you require any information.
